As the first halfway house toopen in South Jersey, HENDRICKS HOUSE, located in Cumberland County, NJ, was established in 1993 providing 16 male beds and has since grown to 40 residential male beds licensed by the Department of Human Services. Hendricks House is contracted with eight southern New Jersey counties to provide alcohol and drug treatment for their indigent residents in need. We also contract many other county and state contracts including Drug Court, Work First and South Jersey Initiative, DUII.
To meet the ever increasing need for Halfway House services in Southern New Jersey, REYNOLDS HOUSE, adjacent to Hendricks House, opened its doors over ten years ago as a 10-bed expansion facility. With our attention turning to the need in Atlantic County, we partnered with Jennifer Hansen, president of The Hansen Foundation, Inc., and the 30-bed HANSEN HOUSE for Men in Egg Harbor City, NJ opened its doors to clients in 2004 bringing our total male capacity up to 70 beds.
We then needed to turn our attention to the female substance abuser that equally needed halfway house services to attain drug-free recovery. This need was addressed by the opening of the 30-bed HANSEN HOUSE for Women (adjacent to Hansen House for Men) in 2005.
